Metabolomics Platform Coordinator, CIBERDEM, Barcelona

The aim of the Platform is to fulfil the metabolomic needs of the 32 Spanish research groups that comprise CIBERDEM. The Platform works closely with the groups on all aspects of their research related to metabolomics. The Platform provides support in the design of experiments, performing analytical measurements (NMR and/or MS measurements) and data processing. Also, the Platform holds scientific discussions with the research groups involved, working to convert measurement results into sound clinical conclusions.

The Platform seeks applications for a Permanent Position in metabolomics. The main function of this position is to coordinate the scientific activities of the Metabolomics Platform and act as a link between the research groups and the technical staff of the Platform. Within this position, a continuous and fluid communication with biomedicine and biotechnology research scientists will be needed in order to achieve the standards of excellence established by the Platform.

This position will work under the supervision of the Director of the Platform and will coordinate the work of a technical staff composed of three members: a specialist in signal processing, an NMR and sample preparation expert, and an LC/GC-MS operator. Candidates must have a proven solid knowledge of biochemistry and general metabolism.

Expertise in metabolomics, as well with other omic sciences (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.), is also welcome. Experience in managing research facilities or technical services, along with proven communication skills, leadership, and management capabilities, is essential for this position. Proven experience in multidisciplinary research group management will also be valued. The salary will be negotiated in accordance with the candidate's skills and experience.
