Abstract

Mass Spectrometry based metabolic profiling is utilized in search for metabolic biomarkers. Data acquisition is performed with the assistance of different mass analyzers coupled with a variety of separation techniques. Sophisticated data mining approach using different algorithms deals with the data generated with the unit resolution, high resolution and ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometers applying different ionization technique. Biomarkers detection and identification procedures are described. Selection of the predictors panel is based on statistically significant data. These predictors are determined putative metabolic biomarker candidates once being identified and validated.
